Our golf league foursome was on the tee box of the ninth hole when our opposition began to discuss their tee shots in relation to the group ahead of us on the fairway.

“I dunno, what do you think, can I hit them from here?” one asked the other, wanting to make sure they were out of range.

Ever a stickler for grammar, I chipped in, “Correction: May you hit them…and yes, you may.”
